Wireless router configuration and wireless printer setup are not as easy as is advertised.  If you are having network problems or just want to improve your wireless security, Rescue My Gadget can come to your home and do it for you.

Recently Rescue My Gadget conducted a survey of an Overland Park neighborhood to determine the number of home wireless networks that are unsecured.

Our survey found that over 75% of all wireless networks could be easily hacked within one minute by just about anyone with intermediate computer knowledge.  Remember, those were only the networks that could be detected from the road outside the home.

Rescue My Gadget recommends three very basic steps that you can take yourself to minimize the risk of unwanted access to your home network:

1. Change your SSID.
2. Change your router name.
3. Change the default password.
4. Implement Wi-Fi encryption.

Check your router manual.  You can likely do this on your own.  If, not give Rescue My Gadget a call.
